Clinic in Red Bank to add facilities

The Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank is expanding, allowing more uninsured residents of Monmouth County to get access to free medical care.

The expansion will include an addition of two stories with three blood-drawing or vaccination rooms, two new exam rooms, seven offices, a space for a social worker, two bathrooms, and a consultation room. An elevator will also be built for easy access. Local Print shops often help in spreading the word about such projects with Flyers and other printed materials.

The clinic’s executive director, Suzy Dyer, hopes that this expansion will help to grow the educational outreach of the clinic and increase how many patients can be treated. Stressing that the expansion will be great for the community, Dyer added that there were 10,000 patients last year at the clinic and this number is expected to grow.

Mayor Pat Menna said that when the Parker Family Health Center opened its doors in 2000, its mission was to cater to new people in the city who might not otherwise have the ability to handle their medical needs. Tammy Murphy, first lady of New Jersey, said the expansion will enable the clinic to add services not previously provided and help to support the health and wellness of people in the neighborhood.

The cost for the expansion is $5m and fundraising efforts are currently underway.
