Stevensville warms up for June 5k

The annual Solstice Stomp 5k is scheduled to occur in Stevensville this summer, although with a slight difference this year.

Each year, the Kent Island Running Group hosts the event at the Cascia Vineyard, presenting Stevensville locals with a chance to socialize and exercise outdoors. This racing event is ideal for everyone of all activity levels, as individuals can choose to walk the 5K or take a challenging run. Flyer printing is often used by the organizers of such events to provide participants with necessary event details.

In most races, participants run along a scenic three-mile route in view of Cox Creek. This year, the Solstice Stomp will be held as a virtual event. Stevensville locals who wish to take part can sign up for the race and run their own routes from their homes at their own convenience on race day. Participants can post their running pictures to the Solstice Stomp Facebook page.

Those who are interested in participating in this event can register online at $20 per individual. All proceeds from race entrees will fund the Kinera Foundation’s Eastern Shore Regional Hub. The Kinera Foundation provides workshops, support services, and therapy to special needs children as well as support groups for their parents.

The Solstice Stomp 5k race is set to be held on Saturday, June 20 at any time of the day.
