Stevensville to host fishing tournament

The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville will be holding a tournament in June to support a local charity.

The 6th Annual Casey Cares Rockfish Tournament is an event where fishers can show their skills and raise money for a good cause. Each team in the competition can register for the Captain's Challenge to see who can become the top fundraiser. There will also be sponsorships for the fishing contest that range from $2,500 to $5,000. Companies that sponsor the tourney can be recognized on the event's Banners and receive tickets to the post-tournament party.

The beneficiary for the event is Casey Cares, which is a charity that supports critically ill children and helps them create positive lasting memories. Many programs are offered by the non-profit, including Family Festivities, Kami's Jammies, Hammy's Heart, and Caring Connections. The foundation was created by Casey Baynes in 2000 and is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Many fundraising activities are organized by the charity, such as 5K races and golfing sessions.

The rockfish tournament will be held on Friday, June 2 from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm. People can register their boats in the tourney for $1,200. Those interested in attending the Captain's Party may pay $175. Charitable foundations that participate in events like this may use flyer printing to share the competitions with potential supporters.
