Stevensville to hold oyster shucking fundraiser

Libby’s Coastal Kitchen in Stevensville will organize an outdoor bash in October to raise funds for those with developmental disabilities.

The Fall Oyster Shuckdown is a fundraising event where people can enjoy a group meal while benefiting The Arc Central Chesapeake Region. Several shore-inspired food stations will be at the dinner, and guests will get to eat shucked, grilled, and fried oysters. Attendees can also access an open beer, wine, and soda bar. Spirits are available for an additional fee. Guests can listen to live music by Chesapeake & Sons, and there will also be lawn games at the venue.

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The group was formed in 1947 and was renamed to its current name in 1991. The organization has offered services to more than 780 families and has placed over 200 people into workforce development programs. The Arc has also organized over 140 activities in the community. Many counties are served by the group, such as Talbot and Caroline.

The fall fundraiser will be on Saturday, October 21 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Tickets to the oyster dinner will cost $110. Those who take part in the event will also receive a commemorative cup. Restaurants organizing charitable activities like this can use printing services to make custom ads for promoting their causes to drivers in the community.
