Stevensville runs the Cinco de Miler

Stevensville runners are lacing up their shoes and getting ready for the upcoming 6th Annual Cinco de Miler five-mile trail race.

The route takes runners on an oyster chaff trail through meadows, along sandy beaches, and through wetlands. The start and finish line will be outside Terrapin Nature Park on a paved road.

Registration is $45 and registrants will receive red gender-specific T-Shirts with the event’s graphic design, collectible race pins and personalized timing slips. Beverages and snacks after the race will be a new addition this year.

Many new and repeat runners have joined small running groups organized by Charm City Run Annapolis to get ready to traverse the five miles.

Awards will go to the top three female and male finishers. There will also be awards for the top female and male finishers in eight age categories.

Water stops will be located along the course. Course marshals will guide runners through the course and cheer them on. Volunteers will also be at the finish line to pass out water, guide runners to the finish line and to the postrace venue where refreshments will be available.

The run will benefit ShoreRivers, an organization dedicated to restoring and protecting Eastern Shore waterways.

Cinco de Miler will be Sunday, May 5 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Terrapin nature Park, 191 Log Canoe Circle.
