Stevensville families with children involved in 4-H will be getting ready for our annual Queen Anne’s County Fair coming in mid-August. This will be a six-day event featuring livestock, arts and crafts, Queen and Baby contests and Fire Fighter Games.
The 2019 Livestock Auction will take place Friday, August 16th starting at 6:00 pm. Queen’s County youth have been raising pork, beef, rabbits, lambs, hogs, ducks and chickens for the sale. Those who purchase an animal will have their pictures taken with the 4-H member and the purchase. Banner printing is being done so there will be Banners presented to the purchasers of the Champion and Reserve Champions.
Other 4-Hers will be showing their horses, dairy goats and dogs and displaying their projects. Pillow making, a cake auction, horse drill demonstrations, dressage and llama demonstrations, and a dog agility show are all on the agenda. The greased pig contest is scheduled for 8:00 pm on Wednesday and tri-cycles races will be at 7:30 pm on Thursday.
Carnival rides will be available Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and Saturday from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Daily all-you-can ride wristbands will be available.
The Queen Anne’s County Fair will run from 9:00 am until 10:00 August 12th through Sunday the 17th at the 4-H Park on Dulin Clark Road in Centreville.
