Stevensville invited to two July events

Stevensville has two notable events scheduled for July.

The Historic Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District will be hosting a community yard sale. Residents are invited to clean out their attics, garages and closets and head to Pocket Park at 7:00 am on July 6. The park is located next to the bank. A limited number of eight-foot tables will be available for those who do not have their own.

Groups that set up multiple-family yard sales like this one sometimes like to get a little flyer printing done so they can advertise their events around town.

The second event will be the Bench Project Ribbon Cutting Ceremony presented by Historic Stevensville Arts and Entertainment District, along with Chesapeake Charities, the Maryland State Arts Council, and the Benchwarmers. This has been made possible by a grant from the Public Art Across Maryland made in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Maryland State Arts Council. It was for the painting and installation of eight benches.

Local artists have been painting shore images on the benches, and the benches have been set on business and private properties around town.

During the ceremony ,there will be a silent auction that will benefit the Historic Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District. One item up for bids will be one of the shore-themed benches.

The event will be on Main Street at the Rams Head Shore House July 23, starting at 2:00 pm.
