Stevensville dances for charity

Stevensville dance enthusiasts and those interested in supporting a good cause will want to save a date in late February.

Two local bands and a catering service are teaming up to present Dancin’ for Diana. Bands will be playing a variety of music genres. The event will be an evening of fellowship, music, and dancing to help raise money for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Keith Twilley Catering will set out a buffet dinner, and the event will have a silent auction and a 50/50 that will also raise funds for the V Foundation.

The rock band Transfusion will provide some of the music. The four-member band considers itself “Delmarva’s Favorite Classic Rock Band.”

Bird Dog and the Road Kings – also a four-man group – will be entertaining the crowd with blues, bluegrass, country, and honky-tonk sounds.

The V Foundation has a two-pronged mission; one is to support cancer research, and the other is to generate cancer awareness in the U.S. It does this through philanthropy, fundraising, education, and advocacy. All donations go to these ends and nothing goes to overhead expenses. Such groups often use flyer printing as an inexpensive way to highly their work.

Dancin’ for Diana will be February 23 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the Kent Island American Legion Post 276, 800 Romancoke Road. Tickets are $70 each.
