Stevensville conference to focus on women in agriculture

Attendees can discuss the current issues in agriculture at the upcoming Mid-Atlantic Women in Agriculture Conference.

The University of Maryland Extension has several focuses, including agricultural production, food safety, and water quality, and will be hosting the upcoming agricultural conference.

This year markets the 24th year of the Mid-Atlantic Women in Agriculture Conference, designed to bring women in agriculture together to discuss and learn about the current issues both the industry and the women within the industry are facing. Network with industry members and utilize the knowledge gained from the speakers and conference breakout sessions to make informed agribusiness decisions. Some presentations include Creating a Purpose Driven Business and Strategic Cover Cropping for Farms of all Scales. Several workshops will also focus on building self-care routines to support stronger mental health practices for individuals and their families and implementing marketing tools like social media in agricultural businesses.

Many agricultural professionals use events like the upcoming conference to network with other professionals within their industry. They also use Business Cards to exchange information and record quick notes on what they discuss at the conference.

The conference will take place on March 5th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, 500 Marina Club Road, Stevensville. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and additional speaker information can be found on the event website.
