In the middle of May, Sandy Point State Park will be the location of the 2020 Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival.
Just a 15-minute drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Stevensville, the festival will be two days of blues played by well-known artists. There will be a crafter village, kids’ activities, and food vendors.
On the Saturday morning, the CBBF All Star Band will get the festival started at 11:00 am. It will be followed at 12:15 pm with Wayne Baker Brooks, at 1:30 pm with Elektric Voodoo, and 2:45 pm with Southern Avenue. Joanne Shaw Taylor will begin her performance at 4:05 pm. She will be followed by The Spinners at 5:30 pm and Blues Traveler will take the stage at 7:15 pm.
Billy Price will begin Sunday’s lineup and he will be followed by Vanessa Collier at 12:15 pm. Alter Five Blues Band will perform at 1:30 pm and Cash Box Kings will take over at 2:45 pm. They will be followed by Christine “Kingfish” Ingram at 4:05pm, and Shemekia Copeland at 5:30 pm. Buddy Guy will be the final performer and he will take the stage at 7:15 pm – his fans often wear his Promotional Products sporting his graphic design.
Guest are encouraged to bring their own blankets, beach chairs, and low-back lawn chairs.
The event opens at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 16 and the music will be from 11:00 am until 8:30 pm on both days.
