Naptown festival swings back into Annapolis

The Naptown Barbayque barbeque contest and music festival is returning to Annapolis for two days next weekend. The festival is presented by the Parole Rotary Club and raises funds for local children's charities.

The barbecue contest will give away a total amounting to $10,000 in cash prizes. Top prize wins $2,000 and People's Choice earns $1,000. Musical entertainment will be provided by such artists as the John Bell Trio, Ashley Forest, and the Red Bees Trio. In addition, there will also be vendors, a People's Choice tasting event, plenty of barbecued food to purchase, and all manner of children's entertainment such as inflatables, arts and crafts, and magicians. Those interested in learning how to become a food expert can sign up for the Kansas City Barbecue Society's Judge School.

It is very likely that visitors will come from all over the area to attend this annual event, such as nearby Stevensville. Organizers are no doubt working with local printing companies to prepare for the event, with products purchased likely to include Flyers and Posters used for marketing.

The 3rd annual Naptown Barbaycue will take place at the Anne Arundel County Fairground from next weekend, May 4 - 5. Admission is $10, or free for those aged 12 and under, and military personnel and veterans will receive a discount.

VIP tickets are also available for $45, and this includes two beers, unlimited soft drinks, admission to the People's Choice tasting event, and preferential seating. For more information, contact Don Chomas at 240-432-3903.
