Stevensville and Queen Anne’s County residents can participate in Queen Anne’s County Annual Fireworks and Family Fun Celebration as they enjoy Independence Day.
The event will include family friendly events and food trucks, and is free to attend. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own blanket or chair to enjoy food and view the fireworks display from the visitors center grounds lawn. Children can look forward to face painting, bounce houses, and balloon twisting at this event. Visitors can carry a cooler, but alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Vendors at such events are likely to share their Business Cards to help visitors remember them.
Visitors can head to the old Ken Narrows outlets at 59 Piney Narrows Road for free parking. To commute to the visitor’s center grounds from the parking space, visitors can use the free shuttle service from 5:30 pm on the day of the event.
To facilitate the event, Ferrypoint Park and the walking bridge will be closed from July 3 in the morning to July 5 at noon. If inclement weather forces the event to be postponed to July 5, the park will be closed until July 6. Multiple detours will be effective from 8:00 pm on the day of the event, with more information available on the qac.org website.
The event will be held on July 4 at the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center. Free parking and the shuttle service begin at 5:30 pm. Family fun events begin from 6:00 pm and the evening will close with fireworks at 9:15 pm.
