Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival postponed until next year

The Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival, originally scheduled for May 16 and 17, has been cancelled for this year, but the date has already been set for the 2021 event.

Organizers say that they want to keep the lineup as close to 2020’s as poosible and have confirmed most artists’ places. If so, the concert stage will feature a couple of Jumbotrons and the first day’s entertainment will include CBBF All Star Band, Wayne Baker Brooks, Elektric Voodoo, Southern Avenue, Joanne Shaw Taylor, The Spinners, and Blues Traveler.

The second day’s lineup will include Vanessa Collier, Altered Five Blues Band, Cash Box Kings, Christine “Kingfish” Ingram, Shemekia Copeland, and Buddy Guy. Stevensville guests are invited to bring sunblock, sunglasses and beach or lawn chairs.

The venue will have kids’ activities (such as moon bounces, face painting and lots of sand), food and drink vendors and a crafter village. Families that attend events such as this often wear identical colored T-Shirts with the family crest, name or graphic design emblazed on the front.

Advanced one-day tickets are $80 and a two-day weekend package is $150. Children under 12 will be admitted for free, and VIP packages were available but have now sold out.

Since this event is set for a huge turnout, besides the $20 parking at the park, there will be free parking at Kent Island High School and at the Park and Ride just off Rive Road on the Harry W. Truman Parkway. Shuttle service will be available from both lots starting at 9:00 am.

Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival will now be at Sandy Point State Park, Annapolis on Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23, 2021. The event will open at 10:30 am each morning with music from 11:00 am until 8:30 pm.
