A themed masquerade ball is set for Stevensville in late February, and the event will benefit the local community.
The 2nd Annual Winter Masquerade Ball is an event hosted at Post 278 of the American Legion by Joyce Beecher Groh and Raven’s Nest 20. The party will have multiple features to entertain the attendees throughout the night.
The theme for this year’s event is Mardi Gras. The holiday is a tradition dating back thousands of years. Over time, different areas that celebrate the event have each developed their own practices, with one of the most well known being the bead tossing from New Orleans.
The ball is open to those who are aged 21 or older. The entry fee includes access to unlimited beer and wine, as well as dinner, appetizers, desserts, and soft drinks. The party will also have music, raffles, and silent auctions. Guests are asked to dress in formal attire. Flyers featuring a themed graphic design are often made when promoting events like this one.
Proceeds from the tickets will go to various charity initiatives within Queen Anne’s County. The passes cost $55 each, or two can be bought for $100. To purchase, those interested are able to go through PayPal, memberships, Venmo, check, or cash. Links to the correct PayPal account can be found through the event’s Facebook page.
The ball will be on from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on February 26th.
