A set of contests will be taking place as part of a bigger event in Stevensville in late September.
The Mighty Matapeake Multisport Festival is a new annual event in its sophomore year. Here, runners, swimmers, and bikers can team up to compete, or choose to compete on their own in a triathlon or duathlon. There is also an “aquabike” race. The team division will work in a relay fashion.
Three of the races have an entry fee of $95, while the team event has a higher price of $130 and invites groups of either two people or three. Participants can register through the RunSignUp.com listing.
A packet of items will be provided to each person. These will include a shirt featuring the race Logo Design, a swimming cap, a timing band, a marker, and stickers so they are put their numbers on their items. Videos further explaining the packet, as well as safety protocol from the first year, are available on the registration page. Prizes will be awarded to the winning racers.
Eastern Shore Triathlon Series is the company behind the festival. All four competitions will kick off at 8:00 am, with a rough ending time of about 12:00 pm. The gathering point for this activity is the Matapeake Clubhouse & Beach. The date is set to be September 24, with registration closing two days before.
