Late summer is when peaches finally reach their optimum state and the state of Maryland is home to several festivals celebrating the fruit. One of the most popular festivals of this type takes place each year in Stevensville, and is now less than a week away.
The 19th annual Peach Festival, which is always held on the first Saturday of every August, is taking place at the Kent Fort Farm. There will be lot of activities for visitors of all ages to take part in, such as hayrides, a petting zoo, a kids’ activities tent, and arts and crafts vendors.
Visitors can also enjoy homemade peach ice cream, pit beef, and hot dogs. Of course, people will be able to pick their own fresh peaches, blackberries, and vegetables to take home with them, all as part of this chance to celebrate and to discover one of the state's most notable agricultural products.
