Summer writing program to aid local writers in Reisterstown

A camp is coming to the Reisterstown area in a few weeks, providing a forum for aspiring writers and students to grow their skills with help from expert instructors.

The Stevenson Summer Writers’ Workshop will welcome scribblers from 5th Grade through 12th Grade. Graduated seniors are also invitede as part of the Creative Bridge Mentor program. The event will allow registered guests to explore fantasy, fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, broadening their range of genres.

Students will meet in small groups through instructor-led workshops. Stevenson University’s creative writing faculty will lead the course. The day will begin with multi-genre morning workshops before exploring specialized workshops created by the faculty. Stevenson University employees will enjoy access to a 50% discount for their children. Printing services are ideal for keeping and preserving written pieces from such events.

Full and partial scholarships are also available for this writing workshop. Interested parties can visit the writing program’s site to explore and apply for these scholarships. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

The writing workshop will be held at Stevenson University on Monday, July 15, with the courses beginning at 9:00 AM. Those who enroll early can access discounts, with tuition starting at $416 and standard tuition costing $465. Interested parties can register online.
