Heritage organization schedules meeting

The annual meeting of an organization that works to preserve the heritage of the Patapsco Valley will take place in Catonsville soon.

The Patapsco Heritage Greenway (PHG) is tasked with interpreting, protecting, preserving, and restoring the culture, history, and environment of the Patapsco River Valley. Throughout the year, the PHG holds history or environmental-based programs, to which the public is invited. The PGH administers the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area.

The PHG’s Annual Meeting gives members a chance to look at the accomplishments of the past year, and learn of the priorities on which the organization will focus during the next year. Those who have received mini-grants from the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area will be at the meeting to discuss their work, and members will have a chance to vote for new members of the PHG board.

Immediately after the meeting, Michelle Wright will present a program entitled “Shades of Hilton: Exploring the Lives of Color of the Hilton Estate at CCBC.” Wright will discuss the studies she has carried out on life in the 1700s and 1800s on the Hilton Estate. Flyer printing is often used to create handouts for events like this.

The upcoming meeting will take place at 6:30 pm on September 25 at The Barn at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville. The meeting and presentation are free and open to the public, but people interested in attending are encouraged to email info@patapsco.org with their RSVPs.
