Sound Mind and Body Wellness (SMBW) is putting on a kids’ movie night this weekend.
SMBW aims to provide engagements that support parents and children in a positive, life-changing way. The group believes that movie entertainment is one way to do this, since movies of different genres and storylines can inspire children to create healthy habits in areas such as eating and motivation. Attendees to this event are encouraged to bring something comfortable to sit on while viewing the movie.
The event is open to children who are 6 to 12 years of age. Ticket prices start at $10 and are open for purchase now via AllEvents or Eventbrite. This fee will provide admission for one adult and one child. For each additional child, there will be an added fee of $5. From every ticket purchased, a portion will go to RUBIES, which is a non-profit that aims at providing resources for children and women in the West African nation of Sierra Leone.
Print shops are a great way for event organizers to create activities for children at events such as this one, and can provide materials for the participants to take home.
