Pinellas Park workshop to teach kids about safe web surfing

In today’s world, most kids will find themselves spending time online, and a Pinellas Park area workshop will help ensure that they do so safely.

The animated character Garfield the Cat and his friends will be the hosts for this lesson in internet safety, and it will touch on an assortment of issues that children may encounter when surfing the net. There is no charge to participate, and each participant will receive some “goodies” to take home with them.

Only a limited number of seats are available for the workshop, so anyone who would like to have their son or daughter attend has been asked to register ahead of time. It is open to kids who are in grades kindergarten to five, and will address topics such as safe posting, protecting one’s privacy online and how to deal with cyberbullies and avoid being one themselves. It is scheduled to run for one hour.

Seminole Community Library, which can be found at 9200 113th Street in Seminole, will serve as the venue for this opportunity for children to learn how to protect their safety online. Brochure printing techniques can be utilized by a printer to craft handouts for an event like this.

Friday September 14th has been chosen as the date for the workshop. It will begin at 4:00 pm.
