Florida is well known for its various ways to have fun in and on the water, and a Pinellas Park event will help to make sure the kids can enjoy these activities safely.
The Josh the Otter Water Safety initiative is a nationally recognized program, and a session is scheduled for the Barbara S. Ponce Public Library. Free to participate in, it is geared towards children between the ages of three and five.
The class will see Josh the Otter, which is the library's newest puppet friend, discuss water safety in a way children can understand. Kids will learn why it is important to know how to float, and why they should always swim with a trusted adult’s supervision. The use of sunscreen, life Vests, and other tips will be shared, and parents or guardians have been asked to register their child in advance.
Water safety and other skills are important ones to have for anyone living in coastal areas, and a class like this offers the opportunity to learn them. Instructional materials – including handouts, texts, and promotional Pens – can be prepared to order by local Print shops.
Pinellas Park parents who want to make sure their child knows how to act safely around water can look out for this session on Tuesday, July 23, starting at 4:00 pm. Anyone who would like to sign up is asked to call 727-369-0664.
