Whether they are locals or snowbirds from the North, the beauty of Pinellas Park’s waterways attract people from all over. The community has been asked to lend a hand in keeping these spaces in top shape, and a cleanup has been organized for this Mach.
During this activity, which will be part of The Great American Cleanup, will see volunteers head to area waterways and mangrove islands to remove marine debris, which can choke out wildlife and interfere with navigation. The materials needed to complete the task will be provided to the volunteers, and they are welcome to use their own kayaks if they have them.
The participants will pick up litter and other debris, and it is limited to those who are at least 18 years old. Close-toed shoes are mandatory, and liberal use of fly repellent and sunscreen is also highly recommended. To help plan the event, the organizers have asked everyone who would like to take part to register ahead of time.
Organizing this sort of yearly activity can sometimes be a complicated process, but Print shops are there to help. They can offer everything from planning sheets and liability waivers, to T-Shirts and water bottles for the volunteers.
This opportunity for Pinellas Park residents to show a little bit of love to its wild spaces will be held on March 21. The registrants have been asked to gather in the field located at 7002 & 8th Street North before heading out for the cleanup.
