Evening of tranquil reflection to be enjoyed near Pinellas Park

There can be something really soothing about the combination of light and water, and this is one of the driving forces behind and event that will soon be held near Pinellas Park.

Members of the public are invited to gather their friends and family together for a special evening that will see thousands of floating lanterns released into the waters at ROC Park. It will be an all-ages activity, and there will be lots to see and do both before and after the luminaries are set afloat.

Members of the public who come to the function will be able to enjoy live music, as well as food, games, and other fun. They can each decorate their own lantern, and the goal is to both release negativity and sadness while inviting in positive energy. Some may choose to launch their small craft in memory of a loved one, while still others may just wish to enjoy the spectacle of all the twinkling lights reflected in the water.

The planners of the evening explained that all of the lanterns will be collected once the event is over, and since they are made from rice paper and bamboo, they will be biodegradable. A reusable pop-up banner can fit in well with the overall sustainable theme of an event like this, and they can be sourced from a local banner printing company.

This special community event will be held on April 6, and all are welcome. Each ticket holder will receive a lantern as well as a kit to decorate it as they wish.
