Opera show to be held in Naples

A live opera showcase is to be held this September in Naples.

The event will be an adaptation of Falstaff as presented by the Staatsoper Hamburg, which is a German-based opera company. This show's take will also feature Ambrogio Maestri in the lead role. He is known for adding a strong and deep baritone voice to the lineup of vocalists, and patrons can look forward to a musical treat.

The story of Falstaff follows a failing knight in his comedic attempts to woo two wealthy, married women in an effort to gain access to their money. The play is an original work from Giuseppe Verdi. Dating back to the 18th Century, the play counts as number 28 in his canon of works, as well as his final. The characters, characteristics, and settings are derived from Shakespeare's own Henry IV of England. The play focuses on the misadventures of Falstaff as he is accused of general misconduct.

This staging occurs as a part of a summer series spearheaded by the Opera Naples. All the headlining acts for the event will be European classics.
