An annual event is now on the schedule that will have Naples residents anticipating a flavorsome weekend.
This year is the 11th Anniversary Stone Crab Festival, to be held in Naples' beautiful downtown. The festival is an entire weekend of food and fun.
The event starts Friday afternoon, when the claw of the first stone crab is cracked, and then live music begins to keep the fun moving, with Yvad the featured performer of a Bob Marley tribute band. Yvad is a solo artist who was the lead singer for The Wailers. The band will perform at Tin City.
The party continues for two more days that are full of live music and seafood, particularly stone crab claws. Among the activities planned are an ice cream eating contest sponsored by M&Ms; vendors offering Florida novelty gifts, clothing, jewelry, and local art; and raffles and activities specifically for children, located in the Freedom Waters Foundation Kids Corner.
In addition, more than 20 restaurants will take part, serving seafood with the focus on crab claws, though they will be offering many other items as well. Several companies will have special offers for those attending the festival, such as the boat rental outlets, retailers, and restaurants located on site at Bayfront, the Port of Naples, and Tin City.
The festival begins October 23, and continues October 24 and 25. Banner printing can provide sturdy decorations for events like this.
