Naples run for furry friends

An upcoming run in Naples will help support the work of the local humane society.

For the 14th year, the Humane Society of Naples is sponsoring the Run for the Paws. The 5K is for both people and their canine buddies, who are invited to run together. Over the years since the race began, thousands of people and their four-legged friends have taken part, with the result that the run has gotten bigger each year.

The course is flat, which makes it easy for first-time participants to enjoy the run comfortably, along with more experienced runners. The course leads through beautiful scenery that everyone can enjoy. As well as the race, the event includes a Groupiebooth, music, vendors from the local area, and an awards ceremony.

The race is scheduled for January 25, with pick-up of race packets on the preceding day, January 24, at the Human Society of Naples' main shelter. Those who prefer to pick up their packets on race day may do so beginning at 6.30 am, at the site of the race. The weather forecast for January 25, according to the society's website, is for 72.16 °F.

The race begins at 8.00 am, at the Civil Air Patrol on Aviation Drive South. The entry fee is $35, which goes to support the shelter. Banner printing can be used to create fun Banners to decorate the venue, and to mark the course in events like this.
