Famed chef to visit Naples

Popular chef and TV host Alton Brown will be bringing his live “Beyond the Eats” show to Naples this February.

Beyond the Eats is described as a “new culinary variety show” that combines on-stage cooking with comedy, music, and science. Brown takes volunteers from the audience to help create unique concoctions on stage and demonstrate the strange world of food and drink. Past editions of the show have included dry ice, cocktails created from spinning wheels, and a “megabake.” Brown first received attention for the television show Good Eats, which ran for 14 seasons and detailed the science behind food and cooking, and has also appeared on multiple series such as Iron Chef America and Cutthroat Kitchen.

Touring is nothing new for Brown, having previously ran the Edible Inevitable tour in 2013 and 2014, and the Eat Your Science live show in 2016 and 2017. Brown has said the Beyond the Eats series will be his last live tour. The show began in October 2021, but this spring’s tour is set to kick off with an extended run in Florida, beginning in Tampa Bay on February 9, before traveling up the East Coast and concluding in Newport News on April 10. Live food events and demonstrations like this, typically advertised through methods like flyer printing and social media, are popular among passionate “foodie” audiences.

Beyond the Eats will come to Naples’ Artis venue on the evening of Monday, February 14.
