It is that special time of year for cigar aficionados, the time when the new limited-edition La Palina Goldies are available for purchase.
According to La Palina Cigars, the latest addition of the coveted Goldie line of cigars has recently started being shipped to retailers. Goldies are released only once a year, and once the cigars of that single vitola are gone, there are not any more. La Palina began creating their Goldies in 2012, and each year is distinctive.
The 50 ring gauge, 6.1 inch long Goldie Laguito Robusto Extra is this year’s cigar. Its blend contains a measure of medio tiempo, which is a small, rare, high sought tobacco leaf that grows on the highest part of the tobacco plant. As is usual, the 2015 Goldie Laguito Robusto Extra contains a pigtail cap at the finished end.

As much about the mystique as is much as the taste, the company claims every cigar it makes is rolled by Maria Sierra at the El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami. Sierra, a master roller trained in Cuba, is said to roll 100 of the premium cigars a day.
