Next month, OtakuFest, South Florida’s newest Japanese animation and pop culture festival, will be coming to Miami.
OtakuFest was created to celebrate the different facets of Asian-American culture, animation, gaming, music, and cosplay. The festival provides a welcoming environment for fans of anime and related pop culture elements, allowing attendees to connect with others who enjoy the same fandoms and hobbies.
The two-day festival will feature top name voice actors, creators, and artists in the guest line-up, as well as vendors and crafters selling wares centered around anime, comics, and other related genres. There will also be plenty of panels focusing on different fandoms and geeky topics, including Q and A panels with celebrities in the industry.
Cosplayers will have the opportunity to show off their costumes in a number of contests. There will also be live concerts, anime-viewing rooms, and a videogaming room for fans to participate in.
Fan convention venues often are decorated with colorful Banners appropriate to the theme, which local Print shops specializing in banner printing can help organizers create.
OtakuFest is scheduled for January 15 and January 16 at the Miami Airport Convention Center located on 711 Northwest 72nd Avenue. Adult Tickets are $28, while children ages nine and under will get into the festival for free. For more information on hours and activities, visit OkauFest’s website.
