The first of the two antique shows the Miami Beach Antique Show will be held for the 36th year in a row. It is anticipates that more than 20,000 people will show up to see, buy, and sell a wide range of antiques.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Show will feature items such as decorative accessories like perfume bottles and oyster plates with price tags under $100, and expensive items such as an armoire from the Victorian era costing $300,000.

According to an organizer for the Miami Beach antique show, common contributing factors to the value placed on antiques include the maker, age, and condition as well as the provenance or individual history. For expensive pieces, a summary of the provenance in the form of a brochure can help spur interest

The Miami Antique Toy Show is presided over by Tom Graboski. He says when it comes to collecting old toys, the value is principally dependent on how many of an item were originally manufactured.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Show starts at noon and runs January 28 through February 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The Miami Antique Toy Show will be held at the Ramada Inn Airport on January 31, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
