City works to reduce environmental impact of Super Bowl

The city of Miami will host Super Bowl LIV in 2020, and Governor Ron DeSantis has announced plans to help safeguard the environment, The Governor stated that the effort will be called the Ocean to Everglades initiative, the announcement was made a news conference which included the Miami-Dade Mayor and Miami Super Bowl LIV Host Committee members.

The initiative will be a combination of efforts between NFL Green, the Everglades Foundation and the Ocean Conservancy. This is the 11th time that the Super Bowl has been held in South Florida and the city wants to continue to be one of the top locations for the games annual event.

While businesses gear up for the occasion, including Print shops who offer banner printing and other printing services, they can all play a part in the Ocean to Everglades initiatives by supporting the efforts of those involved to help make it a success.

From recycling to solid waste management, the process is already in motion on how to successfully manage a project this size. Many building materials will be used only for the Super Bowl so instead of tearing down and discarding the materials, plans are being made to gather and donate them.

Governor DeSantis is pleased to be a part of this important initiative that will help preserve Florida’s environment. Super Bowl LIV will be held at Hard Rock Stadium on February 2, 2020. The stadium is located at Miami Gardens.
