Many local, state and national triathletes will be participating in the Jupiter Medical Center Loggerhead Triathlon coming in early August. They will be running for 3.1 miles, biking for 12 miles, and taking a 3/8 mile ocean swim. Over 600 athletes are expected to participate.
Individuals may participate for $100 entry fee before Wednesday, July 24 and $115 after or a three-person relay team can enter for $150 before July 24 and $175 after. Athletes will begin the competition at 7:00 am and the event will be over by noon. Awards will go to the top three overall winners in the men and women’s divisions.
The accompanying Jupiter Medical Center Loggerhead Triathlon Health and Fitness Expo will take place August 1 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Riviera Beach Marina Center, just up the road at 190 E. 13th Street in Riviera Beach. Runners can pick up their race materials that will include their bib numbers, T-Shirts displaying the event Logo Design, and race day instructions. The expo will also feature fitness clubs and businesses specializing in health foods, sporting goods, and other products and services that enhance a healthy lifestyle. A First Timers Seminar for new competitors will run from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
The Jupiter Medical Center Loggerhead Triathlon will take place Saturday, August 3 at Carlin Park, 400 Florida A1A.
