The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting its Inaugural Lighthouse Luminary Luncheon in a few days, along with a couple of Lighthouse Lectures. Proceeds will go to the continuing restoration of the lighthouse.
Two Honorary Lighthouse Luminaries, Joe Namath and Charles Modica, will be co-chairs for the event, and a Champagne Reception VIP Meet and Greet will be from 1:00 am until noon on Tuesday, April 16 in their honor. Lighthouse Luminaries are ambassadors for the lighthouse and museum that meet to raise funds for the Lighthouse and the venue’s other historic buildings.
The luncheon will run from noon until 2:30 pm at the Pelican Club, 1065 N. Highway A1A. Along with the meal, there will be a live auction, raffle, and paintbrush drawing. Luncheon tickets are $125, and tickets plus the Meet and Greet are $250 each. Large businesses like to give tickets to events such as this as Corporate Gifts. This year’s funding will go specifically to painting the lighthouse.
The two lectures scheduled for this month are The Civil War on the Indian River on Saturday, April 13 from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm, and Mapping Jupiter’s History on April 16 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Civil War presentation will include information about lighthouses, and blockade running from Miami to Cape Canaveral. RSVP must be made at the Kimball Center. The mapping lecture will be free but needs RSVP at the Lighthouse and Museum, 500 Captain Armour’s Way.
