Furry Friends Adoption Clinic and Ranch will soon be holding its second annual Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic.
This will be a summer fundraiser for Jupiter’s Humane Society’s no-kill animal shelter and clinic. The family event will have dogs of all sizes surfing in competition. This year one of the goals is to top last year’s 2,000 attendance.
Four half hour heats will be held in the morning. One heat each for small, medium and large dogs, and one heat will be held for SUP or stand-up Surfboard furry contestants. Those dogs that have never surfed may need to take some classes beforehand from Furry Friends.
The awards ceremony will follow the competition. Proud owners of winning dogs may want to take pictures for future poster printing.
The Adoptable Furry Friends will introduce itself right before the first Purina Dog Performance. Bret Staska will provide live music and guests can visit the vendors and get food, while children participate in kids’ activities for the next hour and a half.
The second Purina Dog Performance will follow Mr. Staska, and then Bryce Allyn will perform. Guests will again have time to browse, shop, and eat. The final Purina dog Performance III will close the event.
The classic will be held August 27 in Carlin Park, 400 Florida A1A here in Jupiter. The fun will begin at 11:30 am and wrap up sometime around 3:30 pm.
