The Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association is presenting 41st annual Christmas in a few days. This year’s theme is going to be ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.
The route this year will be about a mile and a half long and the parade usually lasts for the best part of two hours. Entries will be from community organizations, businesses, groups, families, and individuals. There will be floats, civic groups, animal units, walking units, bands, scout troops, dance, drill, and cheer teams. Everything from private or business cars, scooters, bicycles, and motorbikes, to flatbed floats and feet will be propelling the participants down the parade route.
All entries will be required to pay entry fees, which will be new unwrapped toys that will be donated to Toys for Tots. Many local companies and businesses will be distributing coupons and Flyers along the route. Every unit is required to carry a banner to identify them.
The parade will begin just west of the railroad tracks between Indiantown Road and Center Street. It will go onto Center Street, go north to Tequesta on route Alt. A1A, and end on Bridge Road. The reviewing stand will be in the CEMEX parking lot on Old Dixie Highway.
Plaque and cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place floats judged on originality, use of theme, and best overall decoration.
The Holiday Parade will be held this Sunday, December 10 beginning at 1:00 pm.
