The 1st annual Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic is taking place in Jupiter this August, presented by and raising funds for the Furry Friends Adoption and Clinic.
Dogs of all sizes will be competing for the ‘Top Dog’ trophy. To get their dogs ready for this event, organizers will be hosting surf lessons for dogs each weekend at Jupiter Beach from August 1 to 23. Each 30-minute lesson will cost $25. The lessons will take place on Saturday and Sunday between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.
Registration for this event is $50 with surf or paddle boards and life jacket provided, or $35 if participants bring their own boards.
In addition to surfing, there will be food and merchandise vendors, musical entertainment, doggie yoga, and demonstrations from groups like Navy SEAL dogs and K9 Services Unlimited. Representatives from Furry Friends will no doubt also be on hand to provide information about their programs and services.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help run the event and sponsors to help raise more funds for the clinic.
