Arts studio offers in-person and online instruction

Jupiter’s New Studio for the Visual Arts will continue to be in full swing during the next couple of months.

Most of the October in-person studio classes will be taught by Peggy Kirkwood. She will hold a Beyond Basics Watercolor class on Wednesdays from 9:00 am until noon, and again from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Her Wednesday class from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm will be designed for special needs students.

On Thursdays from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Kirkwood will hold a class in Watercolor, Mixed Media and Collage. Suzanne Scherer will instruct a Secrets of Egg Tempera class on Fridays from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

David Durbak will be hosting his Photography Boot Camp online from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on the first four Thursdays in October. The topics he will cover will be the camera, the lens, composition, and manipulating light.

A two-week Creative Writing Workshop led by Rafael Lima will be online October 19 and 26 from 10:00 am until noon. He will discuss writing fiction, short stories and memoirs.

Sunday, November 8, from 10:00 am until noon, Jerome Kellerhals will give a Bonsai Beginners Class online. Students can pick up their kits containing tools, tree, pot, wire and soil at the Studio the day before between noon and 5:00 pm.

The New Studio for the Visual Arts is located at 1615 S, Cypress Drive, Suite 1. Artists like those at the workshops often design their own Business Cards.
