A veterans’ hiking event is bringing healing and therapy to the Denver area, and military veterans are invited to attend and add to the atmosphere.
The Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike is scheduled to start in a few weeks. It will provide a safe space for U.S. military veterans in the Denver region to connect, laugh, and enjoy nature. The event is designed for active duty personnel, reservists, and veterans. The therapeutic events aim to bring awareness to military veteran suicide prevention.
The hike will bring Denver veterans together to heal from past trauma, using humor and camaraderie to boost positivity and enhance the collective group’s outlook on life. Civilians will not be able to participate in the hike to ensure a safe environment for veterans to work through trauma and enhance their healing. Flyer printing is a fantastic resource to build awareness for community events like this.
The hike will take place outdoors; attendees are encouraged to monitor the weather and dress for the elements. The hikes range between four to ten miles, with a three-mile-per-hour pace. Water and snacks are also recommended to remain refreshed during the hike.
The event will begin at Metropolitan State University on Saturday, June 8th, with the group meeting at 7:00 AM. The event will last until 5:00 PM, and tickets cost $5 per veteran.
