The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspects all airports that provide passenger service annually, and the Colorado Springs Airport passed again—with flying colors, according to an article on the city's website.
This is the fourth year in a row that the airport has met the FAA's stringent regulations, and earned its Airport Certification, with zero deficiencies. The inspection covers a wide range of safety and operational standards, including specific parts of the training employees receive, the maintenance and conditions of both unpaved and paved surfaces, signage, lighting, fueling operations, emergency response, and a number of other procedures. Managers of facilities like this can use brochure printing to create an informative booklet for travelers that explains the safety of the airport and its successful inspection record.
According to the Assistant Director of Aviation - Operations and Maintenance, Brett Miller, the outstanding performance at the inspection can be attributed directly to the dedication of the operations and maintenance staff members. He added that every employee plays a key role in maintaining the airfield in its excellent condition, from the airfield electricians to the Field Shop and Airport Operations.
The airport's Director of Aviation, Greg Phillips, joined in Miller's praise of the airport's staff, saying he was “proud to work with such dedicated people,” and that he is happy to say the airport is a secure and safe facility.
