Pizzeria opening in Colorado Springs area

Ruffrano’s Hell’s Kitchen Pizza, which is popular for its New York-style pizzas, is opening a fourth location in Security, just south of Colorado Springs.

Nelson Rufran, the owner, says he is going to move into a standalone building on Main Street in Security. The building, which offers 2,350 square feet, was the site of the Kwik Inn Diner, but has been closed for several years. Rufran said he passed the building repeatedly, and decided it would be a great place for an additional location for his business.

Rufran was inspired to start his company after a visit to a pizzeria in New York City. The restaurant in New York was called Hell’s Kitchen, so he added his last name—in the original Italian—to the eatery to distinguish it from the one in the Big Apple. Businesses like this can distribute promotional Pens when they open, to help spread the word that they are up and running.

Rufran has a restaurant in Manitou Springs, which has been open for eight years. The other two are in Colorado Springs; one on Eighth Street and the other on Cheyenne Mountain Road. The new restaurant is the largest in the chain, and will have room for 70 patrons, along with a drive-thru.

Rufran says he will be open for business by the end of 2018, and will have 20 to 30 jobs available.
