Colorado Springs hotel has new executive chef

The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs recently announced Michael Steele would be the hotel's new executive chef. Chef Steele will be in charge of all the hotel's on-site dining, including the Lobby Bar and the Atrium Cafe.

Steele is a native of Washington, D.C., where he grew up with diverse cooking styles and innovative food choices. He started his career as a dishwasher at Cakes-N-Things and eventually became a cake decorator. He soon discovered he also wanted to learn to cook savory dishes, and enrolled in Stratford University, located in Tyson's Corner, Virginia. After that, he began working at the Marriott in Tyson's Corner.

Steele has more than 15 years' experience in his field. Most recently, he was executive chef of Raleigh, North Carolina's DoubleTree hotel. There, he was in charge of all the culinary operations and at the same time worked with the Dining Room and Culinary teams to develop unique experiences for diners.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs has announced that it is glad to welcome Chef Steele, who is known for using fresh ingredients. It believes it will greatly enhance dining opportunities for both locals who stop in for a meal, and for hotel guests.
