Rotary plans Halloween festival

Woodland Hills’ Rotary Club is planning its first-ever Halloween Family Faire, according to an article in the Los Angeles Daily News.

Rotary’s president Diane Nelson said:

“[The organization is] thrilled to offer this new gathering space for local families during one of the most entertaining and spookiest events of the year.”

The event is free, and the Rotary is hosting it in conjunction with the West Valley-Warner Center Chamber of Commerce, and the Valley Cultural Center. There will be music, food, games, arts and crafts, bounce houses, face painting, pumpkin painting and more. There will also be a Halloween costume parade and costume contest.

Proceeds from the event will help support the new RotaCare medical clinic, a Rotary Club project. The clinic, which offers low-cost and free healthcare to needy area residents, is manned by volunteers from the San Fernando Valley. It runs entirely on private funds.

Since 1956, the local Rotary Club has supported nonprofit groups and schools that support families, children, animals, and people with disabilities. Nelson said that people who come to the fair will have a great time in addition to supporting worthy local causes, in particularly the new RotaCare Clinic.

The festival will take place this Saturday, October 29 at Warner Center Park, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. The park is located at Califa Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills.
