Lanterns light up Simi Valley in August

Simi Valley residents are already gearing up for what is being billed as an "illuminating" experience this August. The Water Lantern Festival provides locals with a unique opportunity to meet their neighbors, to enjoy panoramic views of a nearby duck pond, and to subsequently light up the night sky.

The main attraction of this festival involves releasing personalized lanterns into the water, and watching them illuminate the nearby surroundings. However, there are plenty of other attractions that visitors can enjoy. These include live music, refreshments, and a scavenger hunt designed for children.

Events such as the Water Lantern Festival use a handful of ways to advertise what is in store. Partnering with local print shops, distributing flyers, and creating dedicated social media pages are all effective methods.

Note that vendors can also attend the Water Lantern Festival; particularly food trucks. Those who wish to offer their services are encouraged to speak with an official representative, as places may be limited.

The 2025 Simi Valley Water Lantern Festival will be taking place on Saturday, August 9th at Rancho Simi Community Park (1765 Royal Ave Simi Valley, CA 93065). Gates open at 5 PM, and the event will end at 9 PM. Note that ticket prices will rise as the day of the event draws closer. Reservations can be made in advance by visiting the Water Lantern Festival website.
