“Whose Live Anyway?” is a live performance of the “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, a comedy improv show that started on British radio and then moved to British TV in 1988. The run ended in Britain in 1999, although the program got picked up in the United States, where it appeared until 2007. It was revived in 2013, and is still on the air today.
The live show features comedians Joel Murray, Jeff B. Davis, Greg Proops, and Ryan Stiles, who perform completely unscripted songs and skits based on audience suggestions. In an interview, Proops noted that the comedians are:
“ . . . loud and we do vaudeville and we sing a lot . . . There’s lots of music and jumping around.”
The show in its present form has been touring since 2007, but the crew actually began taking the performance on the road in 1999, when it was called “Drew Carey’s Improv All-Stars.” It’s likely that fans of the TV show will recognize the people on stage, particularly Proops and Stiles, who have both appeared regularly on both the U.K. and U.S. version of the program.
“Whose Live Anyway?” will be at the San Jose Civic on February 17, at 8.00pm. When events like this are planned, organizers will often promote them by using poster printing to create advertising.
