Lunar New Year festival returns to San Jose

Similar to many communities throughout California, San Jose will soon be celebrating the annual Lunar New Year. This year's event is particularly focusing on the unique cuisine associated with the Harajuku district of Japan.

The 2026 San Jose Lunar New Year festival is ushering in the Year of the Fire Horse. According to Asian mythology, the Year of the Horse is expected to usher in progression, positive change, transformation, and personal growth. While many of these themes will be present throughout the event, organizers have also made it a point to provide guests with access to numerous Bay Area food vendors.

A sizeable portion of the San Jose Lunar New Year festival is also geared towards the younger generation. Interactive displays associated with Pokemon, Labubu, Sonny Angels, and Kpop Demon Hunters are some examples of what awaits.

Annual festivals will frequently leverage proven marketing techniques well in advance. These can include banner printing, newspaper advertisements, and creating standalone social media pages.

The 2026 San Jose Lunar New Year is being celebrated on Friday, February 7th from 10 AM to 5 PM, and all events will be hosted by the Aquarian Artisan Market located at 15780 Almaden Expressway. General admission tickets are free, and those who wish to secure VIP reservations will be charged $44.52 per person.
