Self-proclaimed D-lister to come to San Jose

A comedian who has learned to accept her life as a D-list celebrity is coming to San Jose.

Kathy Griffin is known for her brave comedy and biting satire. She is an author who has put two Books on the best-seller lists, a television star, and a winner of a Grammy, two Emmys, a Gracie award, and a GLAAD Media award. She also has a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, where she is celebrated for starring in 20 stand-up comedy television specials that she wrote herself.

Griffin is probably best known for “My Life on the D-List,” her comedy series that aired on Bravo for six years, for which she received the two Primetime Emmys. The reality show follows Griffin, who proclaimed herself to be a “D-List” celebrity, as she tries to make it in Hollywood. The shows often centered on her and her staff members scheming to help her succeed in showbusiness.

Her other television work includes appearances on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and “Seinfeld.” She is also a voice artist and has lent her talents to “The Simpsons,” “Futurama,” and “Shrek Forever After.”

Kathy Griffin is now coming to San Jose with her “Life on the PTSD-List” tour, a reference to her hit show. She will be at the California Theatre in San Jose on Friday, June 7. Organizers of events like this will often choose to work with printers who use poster printing to create advertising.
