Pop music icon coming to San Jose

An artist with over 100 million record sales to his name is coming to San Jose.

Tom Jones has successfully mastered all types of pop music, from R&B to country, soul, dance, rock, and more, with a career that started in the 1960s in his native Wales. There, he was frontman for Tommy Scott and the Senators, where he was noticed. This gave him the impetus to launch his solo career, which was almost immediately successful.

Over a six-decade career, Jones has had the pleasure of seeing 36 of his songs make it to the UK Top 40, while 19 climbed to the US Top 40. Among his most famous singles are “What’s New Pussycat?” and “She’s a Lady.”

Tom Jones was knighted in 2006, and had previously been honored in 1999 with an Order of the British Empire (OBE). He has also won two Brit Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, and a Grammy. If all that weren’t enough, he also starred in “This Is Tom Jones,” his own television show, in the 1970s.

Jones routinely packed arenas, and still performs at special events. He also appears as a coach/judge on “The Voice UK,” the British version of the popular American television program. A review says:
“The show . . . was fantastic! Tom Jones was incredible!! His voice is golden...legendary!!!”

Tom Jones will be at the San Jose Civic on October 10. Organizers who want to promote their concerts often turn to poster printing for this task.
