Cristian Gutierrez, who goes by the stage name Concrete, was able to place two records, “We Can Make It Rain,” and “Certified Kush,” on Power 106, a major Los Angeles hip-hop radio station, and 35 other stations throughout the nation. He was asked to open for major hip-hop artists like Lazie Bone and Krayzie Bone, as well as Kid Frost, Fat Joe, and others.
Despite his success, Concrete found himself drawn to stand-up comedy, and to his surprise, enjoyed the kind of success in a few months that some comedians work years to attain. In a recent interview, he recalls that once when he visited Las Vegas with his family, they slept in their car. Now, as a headliner, he has the largest suite in the hotel—and proud parents who come to see him perform.
He reveals he is as surprised as anyone by the speed at which his career has skyrocketed, and says he was unaware of it until others pointed it out to him. A review says:
“Had a great time, enjoyed every minute of it. Concrete is a funny comedian who won’t disappoint . . . ”
Concrete will be at the San Jose Civic for five performances beginning Friday, September 6. When organizers plan events like this, they often use poster printing to create advertising for them.
