Redondo Beach workshop to teach plant keeping

The Plant Workshop and Pot Luck at Meet Me in the Dirt will take place in Redondo Beach next month to help people look after their plants.

Meet Me in the Dirt is a black-woman-owned corporate and creative space located in Redondo Beach at the South Bay Galleria. The venue provides gardening services, healing gardening designs, private gardening classes, bridal showers, birthday parties, and women empowerment events. It was founded by Barbara Lawson as a way to use gardening to work through her own grief after she visited a counselor who encouraged making a healing garden. The venue now serves to help others find peace in mind and body.

The plant workshop in November will teach attendees how to maintain single plantings and how plant-keeping benefits people emotionally, mentally, and physically. Every attendee will receive two plants to maintain, and the venue will provide all tools and materials. The event will double as a pot luck, so attendees will need to bring one snack to share with the group.

Workshops may include printed teaching materials such as Posters, which organizers can professionally Print at local poster printing shops.

The plant workshop is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The venue is located at 1815 Hawthorne Boulevard, Redondo Beach. The workshop fee is $50.
