Party celebrates Cinco de Mayo in Newport Beach

A party in Newport Beach will give everyone a chance to grab their sombreros and maracas and celebrate an important Mexican holiday.

Cinco de Mayo, or May 5, was the date of the Battle of Pueblo at 1862 when the Mexican Army defeated the French. It is not, as many people assume, Mexican independence day, as the day Mexico celebrates its independence from Spain is September 16. However, Cinco de Mayo has, over the years, become a huge celebration that recognizes both the battle, and the welcome return of the warmer months.

The party in Newport Beach will be held at Legacy Nightclub, where people will find the premises decorated with the best Cinco de Mayo decorations available. The club will be serving special drinks all night, as well as margaritas and tequila shots, and partiers are urged to wear their favorite Cinco clothing including ponchos, mustaches, sombreros, and more.

Multiple DJs will be providing music in two separate areas, including a ballroom, and VIP areas. A huge LED wall will add to the atmosphere, as will the latest in sound and lighting systems.

The party is on Friday, May 5 itself, from 10:00 pm until well after midnight. It is limited to those 21 and over. Legacy Nightclub and Lounge is on Macarthur Boulevard in Newport Beach. To publicize events like this, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts to distribute in the area.
